Darren McKenna (born 28 October 1980 in Celbridge, County Kildare) is an Irish footballer.
McKenna began his League of Ireland career with Monaghan United[1] and was top scorer for the Mons' during their 2003 campaign. He later returned his home county to join Kildare County where he was a regular member of their squad. He was released mid season, however, due to a persistent back injury.
In February 2007, he signed for Shelbourne and he made his league debut for the Reds on March 9, 2007 in a league fixture against former club Kildare County at Tolka Park, where he came on as second half substitute to score a late equaliser for Shels against his former club in a 2-2 draw. McKenna made a total of 11 competitive appearances for Shelbourne during the 2007 season before he was released in July 2007 by the Tolka Park club. In March 2008, playing in his first league game for Longford Town he scored a hat-trick to see off Sporting Fingal [1]. Darren finished the 2008 league season with 12 goals to his name to leave him as third highest goal scorer in the division.
After spending the first half of the 2009 season with Monaghan United, Darren re-joined Longford Town in July 2009 until the end of the season.
